Bipash Tandoori
About This Spot
Stepping into Bipash Tandoori, you’re gently embraced by the warm hum of a neighborhood gem where familiar comforts meet the rich, layered aromas of Indian cooking. The pace here feels unhurried, a quiet invitation to settle in, enjoy the friendly attentiveness of the staff, and savor moments between dishes rather than rushing through a meal. It’s the kind of place where the decor might softly whisper of time past, but the true character is found at the table, where each plate arrives with a thoughtful balance of flavor and generous portion.
The atmosphere encourages sharing — not just of food but of stories and company — with menus that reveal dishes both vibrant and nuanced, from fragrant biryanis and tender tikkas to deeply spiced curries that leave a lasting impression without overwhelming. There’s an ease to dining here, where the focus is as much on the experience as on the food itself.
Regular visitors appreciate Bipash Tandoori for its consistency and warmth: meals that arrive thoughtfully timed, spiced with authenticity, and served with a respectful nod to tradition. Whether you’re drawn by the subtle kick of a perfectly cooked vindaloo or the comforting earthiness of a saag paneer, the restaurant invites you to explore a genuine connection to Indian flavors, made accessible without fuss.
For those seeking a relaxed yet engaging Indian dining experience away from the rush, Bipash Tandoori quietly promises a place to linger, enjoy, and return to — a comforting presence amid Welwyn Garden City’s broader dining scene.

Much better than I expected. Fine tasting food at very reasonable prices. I last visited about 10 years ago and wasn't overly impressed but now in 2019 it was much better. Service was friendly and efficient. The photo includes saag aloo, chicken tikka dhansak, pilau rice and keema naan - all for £11.95p Update in May 2022: regrettably they are no longer offering the "Gourmet menu", let alone for £11.95. So I ordered fewer items for a similar price (£10.45) I.e. samosas as a starter - excellent tasting, followed by chicken biriani, which comes with a vegetable sauce. Both the biriani and sauce were well presented, and also tasted excellent. Finally, they provide a delicious chocolate with the bill. Yes, I like this restaurant.

We ordered food to go. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. The meat was tender, sauces flavoursome and the consistency was very good. It was nicely packed in plastic containers. No leaks and when the food was served, it was still warm so no need to reheat. The price was reasonable too. Great Indian take away. Would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal here last night. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our food was wonderfully tasty, plentiful and well priced which was served with a nice pause between courses. The only downside was the decor being a little tired. We will make the effort to be back

Great restaurant, Food is fab. Lamb tikka starter is one of the best I've had. Big portions, would highly recommend.
